Lake Stevens: Men arrested in robbery

Two men suspected of holding up the Lake Conner Grocery on Sunday night led police on a chase from Lake Stevens into Marysville before they were arrested.

Officers witnessed the robbery about 7 p.m., Lake Stevens police Chief Randy Celori said.

One man used a gun to demand money from the clerk while an accomplice waited outside in a car. Both were in their late 20s.

When officers tried to stop the car from leaving, it sped off toward Marysville, Celori said.

Police were able to get the car to stop near 83rd Avenue. The driver was arrested, but the other man ran off.

A police dog caught the man, who was later treated at the hospital for injuries.

Both men were booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery, attempting to elude police and unlawful possession of a firearm.
