This week’s featured new home is located in Edmonds. It presents sweeping views of Puget Sound, the Olympics and the ferries from the upstairs bedroom suite.
Built by Classico Homes, this two-story home has four bedrooms, 3.25 baths, formal living and dining rooms, a spacious family room, a large kitchen, a den or office, an oversized bonus room with a wet bar and a three-car garage.
Stretching over 4,300 square feet, the home has intricate detail and thoughtful custom touches.
The home’s foyer is decked with South American Pearwood with inlays of travertine stone and mosaic tile framed by a band of black walnut. Soaring to the second level, the ceiling is accented by an oversized, ornate chandelier.
To the left of the entry is the formal dining room that has a double-coffered ceiling, dual crown molding, and chair railing and wainscoting painted with an enamel finish. A butler’s pantry provides a wine refrigerator and storage space for crystal and china.
On the opposite side of the entry, paned glass French doors open to a room that could serve as either a den or an office. The room has a 13-foot ceiling, wood-wrapped windows, Category V wiring and fir paneling that extends to the 6-foot level.
The living and family rooms each has a gas fireplace featuring floor-to-ceiling stone. The family room includes a built-in niche large enough to accommodate a 52-inch flat-screen television along with a built-in, full-length media unit made of cherry.
Highlights of the large kitchen include a center island for serving and food preparation, Venetian plaster covering the hood vent, slab granite countertops, a tiled backsplash embellished by a cast medallion feature, a coffered ceiling with crown molding and a stainless steel appliance package that includes a double wall oven, a six-burner gas cooktop and a microwave. The kitchen is illuminated with indirect, drop-down and recessed lighting.
Adjacent to the kitchen is an informal eating area with French doors that open to a covered patio that’s plumbed for a gas barbecue.
Front and rear staircases ascend upstairs to the bedroom portion of the home. French doors open to the suite’s sleeping area that benefits from a high ceiling and large windows that frame the view and supply light for the sitting area. A see-through gas fireplace is shared by the sleeping area and a spa-like, five-piece bathroom.
Bathroom amenities include a shower with dual heads. The shower is lined with polished limestone with mosaic tile accents. There’s also a jetted soaker tub that’s encased in a limestone surround and placed beneath corner windows, dual vanities on separate walls that have cherry cabinets and decorator niches, travertine flooring, a separate toilet room and a walk-in wardrobe closet with a built-in organizer system on three walls.
