Sex offender arrested after sexual assault of disabled teen

A registered sex offender from Bothell is behind bars after police arrested him for the alleged sexual assault of a developmentally disabled teenager at motels in Lynnwood and Everett.

Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives believe Brian David Ormsby, 45, also posed as a talent agent for child actors and set up a Web site in an attempt to lure children, according to a police affidavit filed Friday in Everett District Court.

Detectives interviewed a 17-year-old boy who takes medication for mental handicaps, and learned that Ormsby offered the teen a job, the report said.

The boy told detectives that instead of taking him to job sites, the older man took him to motels where he held the boy against his will and forced him to have sex.

The abuse occurred twice in early January, prosecutors allege in court papers.

Sheriff’s deputies began investigating after the boy’s mother called 911.

Ormsby is a Level 1 sex offender. He was convicted in 1989 of raping a 5-year-old boy in King County, according to court documents.

“I believe Ormsby poses a very serious threat to not only the victim in this case, but other children in society,” sheriff’s detective Christopher Leyda wrote in his report.

Ormsby was jailed Thursday for investigation of second-degree rape and two counts each of indecent liberties and unlawful imprisonment. A judge Friday ordered he held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
