Huskies a No. 4 seed in Portland, will play Mississippi State

Washington is the No. 4 seed in the West Region, and will play Mississippi State in Portland Thursday. That’s not an easy No. 13, as Mississippi State just won the SEC tournament today.
Should the Huskies win that game, they’ll play Purdue or Northern Iowa in the second round. And if the Huskies make the sweet 16, they could be looking at UConn in that game for the third time since 1998. UConn is the No. 1 seed in the West Region (which is in Arizona), whil Memphis, a team that was in contention to earn a one seed, is the No. 2.
The big surprise so far is that Arizona made the field as a No. 12 seed, meaning there will be six Pac-10 teams in the tournament for the third straight year.
We’ll hear from Lorenzo Romar and players later this afternoon, so we’ll have more then.
Other No. 1 seeds are Louisville in the midwest, Pitt in the East, and North Carolina in the South.
