Monroe: Students will discuss women’s history
Several Monroe High School freshmen are scheduled to present their work to honor the histories of older women in their families at the Monroe Historical Society’s annual membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Tualco Grange, 18933 Tualco Road, Monroe.
Students have been collecting female relatives’ histories and writing short biographies. Many of the biographies have been broadcast by KSER 90.7 FM in Everett.
The presentation is scheduled to follow a potluck dinner.

Lake Stevens: Youth Forum set for Thursday
The Lake Stevens Family Center’s Youth Advisory Council plans to host a youth forum from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Stevens School District educational service center, 12309 22nd St. NE.
At the forum, teens from Lake Stevens schools are scheduled to discuss bullying and discrimination and how they can lead to alienation, substance abuse and suicide. Students will have PowerPoint presentations and present music, drama and art. Refreshments will be served.
Everett: Mayor’s youth award nominees sought
Nominations for the Mayor’s Youth Achievement Award are being accepted through March 27.
The annual award recognizes the accomplishments of students ages 8 to 20.
Students who attend schools in the Everett School District, those who have an Everett address, as well as those attending private schools or being home-schooled, are all eligible for consideration.
Nomination forms are available at Everett public libraries; elementary, middle and high school offices; the Mayor’s Office at Everett City Hall in the Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave.; or www.ci.everett.wa.us/default.aspx?ID=1130.
