Mississippi State recruiting Duck fans

I’m here at the Rose Garden in Portland as teams are meeting with the media and practicing for tomorrow’s games.

While the Huskies are playing a lot closer to home than Mississippi State, the Bulldogs are hoping they will have a few more fans than those who made the trip west from Mississippi. Namely, they hope a lot of Oregon fans have tickets for tomorrow’s game.

“I understand there is not a lot of love between the two teams,” MSU coach Rick Stansbury said. “So if Oregon fans want to help us, we want all the help we can get. Bulldogs love Ducks.”

Between Oregon fans and the Gonzaga fans that show up tomorrow, Mississippi State may indeed have a few more fans than they expected.

The Bulldogs (MSU, not Gonzaga) are out on the floor now practicing. From the looks of th ing, they’re going to run quite a bit and take some threes, which is what we’re expecting.

Washington players and Lorenzo Romar will talk to the media in a little bit, so I’ll check back in a little later this afternoon.
