The annual Snohomish County Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the YMCA of Snohomish County, is planned for 6:45 a.m. April 10 at the Hansen Conference Center at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
More than 600 guests are expected at the event, which aims to bring the community together in a nondenominational setting to give thanks to God and seek guidance for the year.
The guest speaker will be former Montana Gov. Judy Martz, who was a member of the 1963 U.S. World Speed Skating Team and the U.S. Olympic Team at the 1964 Winter Games.
Martz also donated one of her kidneys to her ailing sister.
For ticket information, call 425-258-9211, ext. 112, or visit www.ymca-snoco.org.
Sultan garbage customers will see a refund on their April utility bills. The City Council adopted new garbage rates that went into effect Feb. 1.
During the billing set-up, a city employee discovered an error that had effectively raised rates by more than 20 percent. Customers should receive a refund of up to $14 on their April bill.
The Monroe Garden Club offers a $1,000 scholarship for a person in Monroe pursuing a career in horticulture. First consideration will be given to a Monroe High School student.
