Evergreen State Fair secures two major sponsors

MONROE — The Evergreen State Fair has landed two new major sponsors, despite the widespread economic downturn.

Unique Beverages of Everett and Smith Brothers Farms of Kent have agreed to sponsorship deals with the annual fair, which runs from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7 this year. Unique Beverages makes drinks called “Wired” and “Cascade Ice.” Smith Brothers has been a dairy producer since 1920.

The 12-day fair has been ranked the 25th largest in the country. The county works with more than 130 sponsors every year to pull it off.

Spots for vendors also have been filling up, too. So far, the county has reported receiving 125 new applications for 275 locations.
