Car burns after I-5 crash

LYNNWOOD — A Ford Escort burst into flames Friday after it rear-ended an SUV on I-5 near the 164th Street SW exit in Lynnwood.
One person received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, said Scott Schroeder, Snohomish County Fire District 1 battalion chief.
The accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. and snarled northbound traffic.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
