Everett: EvCC WWII Holocaust forum today
Leo Hymas, an American soldier who helped liberate the Buchenwald concentration camp during World War II, is scheduled to speak at noon today in Room 105 at Whitehorse Hall at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St.
Hymas is one of four speakers who will give lectures over the coming weeks as part of a humanities class called “Surviving the Holocaust.” The forums are free and open to the public.
Others speakers will give talks at noon April 29, May 13 and May 27 in the same location.

Lake Stevens: Scout troop plans fundraiser
Boy Scout Troop 222 of Lake Stevens and Granite Falls is planning a silent auction and Italian dinner from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10120 Chapel Hill Road, Lake Stevens. Tickets are $3 per person, $10 per family.
The auction is to raise money for this summer’s Boy Scout camp and for tents for the troop.
The Scouts are auctioning off their labor, such as yardwork and housework. Businesses and families of Scouts plan to donate some items. To make a donation, call Mary Snel at 360-691-0270.
Edmonds: Rose House sets Pink House benefit
A luncheon organized to save Edmonds’ historic Pink House is set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pink House, 555 Main St. The event is sponsored by the Rose House, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to purchase the home and establish it as a center for advancing the arts. Suggested donations are $30 per person, $50 per couple.
