Everett: Bayside talks zoning and code rules

The Bayside Neighborhood Association meeting is 6:30 tonight at Everett Public Library’s Auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave.

Scheduled guests include a code enforcement officer, two city planners and Everett police Sgt. Jim Phillips. The association’s agenda includes a discussion on how to recruit more active members.

Lynnwood: Olympic View Drive work

A new round of construction on Olympic View Drive is scheduled to begin at the end of this month or the beginning of May.

An open house to discuss the construction, which will widen the roadway from 76th Avenue W. to 178th Place SW, is set for 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas More Parish, Renggli Hall, 6511 176th St. SW, Lynnwood.

Service dogs can get free eye examinations

Local service dogs can get free eye exams in Lynnwood during the week of May 3-9. Registration is required for the free exams is required.

The ophthalmology department of the VCA Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle offers the free exams to guide dogs, handicapped assistance dogs, detection dogs and search and rescue dogs. Registration is a two-step process: register online by visiting www.­ACVOeyeexam.org (click on “dog owners/participants”) and call the veterinary center’s Lynnwood office at 425-697-6106.
