GOLD BAR – A 5-year-old boy was killed in a car crash this afternoon on Fir Road east of Gold Bar.

A girl, 3, and a man, 27, also were injured, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

The crash was reported about 2 p.m. in the 44000 block of Fir Road, she said. It appears the man was driving a Dodge Durango that veered off the road and hit a tree.

The boy died at the scene, Hover said.

Deputies believe the girl was in a child seat. They still are investigating if the boy was in a child seat or wearing a seat belt.

The girl and the man, her father, were both taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries. The boy’s relationship to the man is not yet known, Hover said.

Crash detectives are investigating.
