News about Dave Sheldon

Some unfortunate news regarding former Silvertips color commentator Dave Sheldon as his contract with the Vancouver Giants is not being renewed. Sheldon spent three seasons doing a fantastic job as Keith Gerhart’s sidekick on the radio broadcasts in Everett — despite commuting from Vancouver — before being hired as the broadcaster/media relations director in Chilliwack. He spent two seasons in Chilliwack before switching over to Vancouver this past season, where he was the play-by-play announcer and media relations director, not to mention finally working close to home.

It was tough to hear this because Dave is one of my favorite people in the league. Here’s hoping he lands on his feet somewhere else in the WHL.
