EVERETT — Neighbors were evacuated from homes in the Edgewater neighborhood Thursday evening when bomb-making materials were found in a house listed for sale in the area.
The state’s regional bomb-disposal team was called to the house and a fire truck blocked off traffic to the area.
The owner of the house in the 3300 block of Shore Avenue asked Everett Police to remove the owner’s daughter and other people who were allegedly using illegal drugs and squatting in the home, police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
While officers were clearing the house about 5:30 p.m., the bomb-making materials were found.
The bomb team was called in to remove the evidence, Goetz said.
