Monroe: City issues bonds for sewer work
City leaders have moved forward with building a $2.5 million sewer lift station at property near Park Place Middle School. City leaders decided to issue and sell bonds to pay for most of the project.
They also took advantage of low interest rates and an improved AA rating from Standard &Poor’s and refunded another $2.1 million in bonds issued by the city in 1999.
The new bonds will be repaid over 15 years.
