MUKILTEO — A woman and her dog were rescued Monday night after they fell down a steep ravine.
The woman had gone down the cliff just after 8 p.m. in the 6000 block of Chennault Beach Drive to get the dog, Mukilteo Fire Department Assistant Chief Brian McMahan said. They were at the bottom of a 180-foot steep slope.
Rescue crews used specialized ropes and other equipment to haul the woman, described as in her mid-50s, and the dog to safety, McMahan said. The dog appeared to be a yellow Labrador retriever or golden retriever.
The woman was treated at the scene and wasn’t taken to a hospital.
Teams from Mukilteo, Lynnwood, Edmonds and Snohomish County Fire District 1 helped in the rescue effort.
