Learn from a master: English author, teacher and painter Ron Ranson offers a three-hour watercolor demonstration at 4 p.m. Monday at Everett Artist’s Supply and Framing, 9304 Evergreen Way, Everett.

Ranson has written 25 books on painting, and his work can be seen at www.ronranson.com.

Fireplace Tavern helps cancer research: More than $3,500 was raised Sunday at Fireplace Tavern in Everett.

The money will benefit cancer research.

Patrons bought raffle tickets and played games. Last year, they raised more than $4,000 for the same cause.
