Clement: "No clue"

At 10 minutes until midnight, I’ve just traded text messages with the man of the hour, Jeff Clement.

I asked if he knew what was going on and if there had been a trade. His response: “No clue, Kirby”

I’ve had a great relationship with Jeff ever since the Mariners drafted him, and he has always been open with me. So when he says he has no clue what’s going on, I believe him. He knows this is a business and this is what happens in baseball, but this can’t be an easy night for the guy.
