RENTON — Medalist Seo Hee Moon of Mukilteo battled her way through the quarterfinals and semifinals in the heat of the day Wednesday to earn a spot in the championship match of Pacific Northwest Golf Association’s Junior Girls Amateur for the third time in four years.

In her quarterfinal match against Cali Hipp from Caldwell, Idaho, Moon won holes 2, 3 and 4 to take a 3-up advantage and held the lead throughout the match, eventually closing out Hipp 4&3.

In her afternoon semifinal match, the Kamiak High star was pitted against No. 4 seed Jennifer Yang of Coquitlam, B.C. Moon found herself 2-down after 6 holes and then rattled off four straight birdies on holes 7-10 to erase the deficit and take a 1-up advantage. After winning holes 13 and 15 with par, Moon closed out the match with a final birdie on the par-3 16th hole for a 4&2 win.

Sierra Bezdicek entered match play as the No. 14 seed and has continued to impress as the underdog. She knocked out the No. 6 seed, Kristen Rue of Gig Harbor in the quarterfinals after 19 holes.

In the semifinals, Bezdicek faced off against the hometown favorite and No. 2 seed Lauren Sewell. Bezdicek trailed for one hole in the match after losing the 5th hole, but came right back and squared up the match with a birdie on 6. The match then bounced back and forth between all square and 1-up for Bezdicek, who took the final lead after a par on the par-4 14th hole.
