Edmonds: Church offers free breakfast
North Sound Church is offer ing a free pancake breakfast to the community from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
Volunteers will serve pancakes, link sausage, juice and coffee to those participating in the Edmonds Classic Car Show, as well as any others. The car show starts at 10 a.m. downtown.
The church is at 404 Bell St. There will be a single service at 10 a.m. in the Edmonds Theatre, 415 Main St.
Everett: City OKs bid from Ballard Diving
The City Council voted Wednesday to award a bid for commercial diving services to Ballard Diving &Salvage at an estimated cost of $156,743 for two years. The city’s public works department requires divers to perform maintenance at several locations, including Chaplain Reservoir.
Nominations needed for the Wendt Award
The city of Everett Cultural Commission is accepting nominations until Oct. 2 for the Richard Wendt Award of Excellence. The award recognizes the accomplishments of artists, arts and cultural organizations and others committed to enriching their communities through the arts. Sultan: Volunteer named to city board
Bob Knuckey was appointed by a unanimous vote of the City Council on Aug. 13 to a vacancy on the Sultan Planning Board. The retiree founded a volunteer Adopt-a-Street program to pick up litter in 2008. The planning board meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month to review and monitor the city’s comprehensive plan.
