Man dies after car falls on him in Lynnwood
LYNNWOOD —A Monroe man who was critically injured after a vehicle fell on him at a Lynnwood wrecking yard died Thursday evening at a Seattle hopsital.
The man, 31, was working on a sport utility vehicle around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Best Auto Parts, Inc. at the time of the accident, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he underwent surgery, Sessions said. He was treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit but died about 6 p.m., she said.
The man was a customer at the business, located in the 18100 block of Highway 99.
Detectives continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
A teenager was killed in 2003 working at a different wrecking yard along Highway 99 in Lynnwood. Josh McMahon, 16, was crushed after a steel gantry crane fell on him.
