A touring choir made up of Ugandan orphans will perform one more free show in Everett on Tuesday.
The five girls and five boys are singing and dancing throughout the western United States, guests of the Bellingham-based nonprofit Christian charity Childcare Worldwide, which arranges sponsorships of children in Uganda, Kenya, Haiti, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Performances were held Sunday at Mukilteo and Everett churches. A final performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Everett’s Grace Lutheran Church, 8401 Holly Dr.
“They’re just amazingly musical,” said Lezlie Fox, choir ministry director.
This is the fifth year the Ugandan Orphans Choir has toured Western Washington.
“We just discovered that people were so enamored of the kids, and it was a great way to tell the story of child sponsorship,” Fox said.
Choir members, who range from ages 9 to 14, are paired with host families during the tour.
“(Hosts) are nervous initially … by the time they leave, they just love them and they don’t want them to go,” Fox said.
