Huskies fall to No. 24

SEATTLE — A blowout loss to Georgetown cost the University of Washington men’s basketball team seven spots in the newest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The Huskies (6-2) dropped to No. 24 in the weekly poll — UW’s lowest ranking of the season — after a 74-66 loss to Georgtown on Saturday morning. The Hoyas (8-0) moved up from No. 15 to No. 11 with the win.
Gonzaga (8-2) continues to rise up the poll, moving up to No. 15.
Kansas and Texas remained the top two teams in the poll, while Kentucky (10-0) moved up to No. 3 after Villanova’s Sunday loss to Temple. Kentucky received a No. 1 vote, while Kansas (61) got the majority of the No. 1 votes. Syracuse (two) and Texas were the only other teams receiving No. 1 votes.
