PREP WRESTLING: Lake Stevens in 2-team race for 1st

AUBURN — Lake Stevens, the defending state champion, trailed No. 1-ranked Tahoma (Washington Wrestling report) by two points Friday after the first day of the 4A Region I meet at Auburn H.S.

Tahoma advanced nine wrestlers to today’s semifinals and will go head-to-head with Lake Stevens, which advanced eight, at 119 pounds.

Both teams are assured at least one finalist. Lake Stevens has teammates facing off at 112 pounds while two Tahoma grapplers meet in the semis at 135.
