TALKING POINTS

First off, here’s the ticket information for Monday’s Game 7, which is at 7:05 p.m. at Comcast Arena. Tickets go on sale online beginning at 11:30 p.m. tonight at www.everettsilvertips.com. The Tips are opening their office Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ticket sales. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 866-332-8499 beginning Sunday morning.

As for tonight’s Game 6, it was yet another come-from-behind victory for Kelowna at Prospera Place. This time Everett led 4-3 going into the third, but couldn’t hold it. The Tips had two-goal leads in both Game 3 and 4 in Kelowna, but couldn’t hold those either.

However, Kelowna was well deserving of the victory tonight. The Rockets played with a lot more jump than in Game 5, outshooting the Tips 35-16. And Kelowna finally received goals from three key players who hadn’t scored yet in the series: Tyson Barrie, Shane McColgan and Lucas Bloodoff. Barrie scored twice, both coming on bullets drifting in from the point.

Everett almost pulled a fast one when the Tips scored three times in the final eight minutes of the second period, turning a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead. The final two of those three goals both came on the power play, and the Rockets were not happy with those calls.

The Tips struggled much more on defense tonight than in Game 5, when they were also missing Radko Gudas and Chris de la Lande. Kelowna having the last change made a huge difference there as the Tips couldn’t hide their weak spots on D. Zack Dailey played on defense again tonight, and it seemed the Tips really missed him up front, too.

TURNING POINT

Kelowna trailed 4-3 midway through the third period, but scored twice in 17 seconds to turn the game. Barrie blew a slap shot past Everett goaltender Kent Simpson at 9:16, then Bloodoff’s wraparound attempt snuck through Simpson’s 5-hole at 9:33.

HIT OF THE DAY

A lot of good hits out there tonight that were difficult to distinguish from one another. Kelowna’s Evan Bloodoff delivered a number of those.

THREE STARS

First star: Barrie. Two goals, he provided crucial offense from the blue line.

Second star: Dan Iwanski, Everett. One goal and one assist, his line was Everett’s best.

Third star: Lucas Bloodoff. One goal, one assist and a running conversation throughout the game with most of Everett’s team.

The Herald’s honorable mention: Evan Bloodoff. One assist and played physical.
