Kent Simpson on NHL radar

The NHL announced its list of 100 players invited to the NHL Scouting Combine and Everett goaltender Kent Simpson was on the list. The combine is where the top prospects for the upcoming draft are gathered to go through various off-ice physical tests/measurements, and it gives the teams an opportunity to conduct extensive interviews. Simpson was one of 22 WHL players invited and one of four WHL goalies.
Everett has two other strong draft prospects who weren’t invited. Defenseman Radko Gudas has garnered a lot of interest, but players who are not in their first draft year typically aren’t invited to the combine. Defenseman Alex Theriau wasn’t invited, but I suspect he would have been if they’d invited 150.
