Mindy McCready, the country singer who battled drugs and legal woes but recently declared herself clean after a stint on “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew,” was recovering in a hospital Tuesday after police responded to an overdose call at a Fort Meyers, Fla., home.

A Cape Coral Hospital spokeswoman would not say why McCready was taken to the hospital but said she was in good condition.

McCready, 34, gained stardom in 1996 with a No. 1 hit, “Guys Do It All The Time,” and a double-platinum album, “Ten Thousand Angels.” McCready recently released a new album, “I’m Still Here.”

She is well-known these days for a troubled life filled with domestic abuse, drug and DUI arrests and a 2008 suicide attempt.

Police say an autopsy failed to determine how Slipknot bassist Paul Gray died. They say it will be weeks before toxicology results are available that could determine the cause of death.

The 38-year-old Gray, a Johnston, Iowa, resident and a founding member of the metal band, was found dead Monday in a suburban Des Moines hotel.

Police say the autopsy confirmed there was no evidence of foul play or trauma.

Bret Michaels, the rocker who won “Celebrity Apprentice” on Sunday is upbeat, despite his recent illnesses.

The 47-year-old Poison frontman suffered a brain hemorrhage in April and was hospitalized recently after what doctors called a warning stroke. He faces surgery for a hole in his heart.

Michael says he isn’t 100 percent but plans to continue his tour, starting Friday in Biloxi, Miss.
