LAKE GOODWIN — A joint partnership can go forward with plans to build part of a 600-home development after the Snohomish County Council ruled in the developer’s favor.

A 4-0 County Council vote Wednesday mostly upheld earlier hearing-examiner decision to approve plans for a 49-lot rural-cluster subdivision, one of several adjacent pieces in a larger proposed development. The council decision weighed the merits of an appeal filed by the 7-Lakes Group and Stanwood resident Tom Barry.

The council did concede one point in the appeal by requiring the developer to improve safety at an intersection if 200th Street NW is extended to the west.

The entity trying to build the large-lot homes is Lake Goodwin a Joint Venture LLC. It’s a partnership between the McNaughton Group of Edmonds and Granite Land Co. of California.
