Round up barrels of fun at rodeo in Darrington

To spell “fun” in Darrington this weekend, you’ll want to use the letters R-O-D-E-O.
The 49th Annual Timber Bowl Rodeo starts today and continues through Sunday, featuring all things cowboy, as well as music, games for kids and something new this year — a carnival.
The professional Darrington Timber Bowl Rodeo is a sanctioned event and part of the Western Rodeo Association.
Expect to see lots of barrel racing, calf roping and bullriding. Kids’ events include the popular mutton busting.
The 49th Annual Darrington Timber Bowl Rodeo hours are 4 to 11 p.m. today, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Darrington Rodeo Grounds, on Highway 530, three miles west of Darrington.
Admission is $9 for adults, $6 for children, seniors and active military, free for kids younger than 6. For a complete schedule, go to www.darringtonrodeo grounds.com.
