Radko Gudas taken in third round by Tampa Bay (updated)

Everett has its second NHL draftee as defenseman Radko Gudas was selected in the third round, 66th overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning. That’s two picks in a nine-pick span for the Tips after goalie Kent Simpson was taken 58th overall by Chicago.

Gudas may have been the first re-entry selection as he was passed over in the past two drafts. I’ll have to check into that.

—- UPDATE, 11:45

It turns out Gudas was the second overage player selected in the draft. Swedish forward Sebastian Wannstrom, who was taken in the second round by St. Louis, was born in March of 1991. Gudas was the first 1990-born player picked.
