Prep volleyball: King’s 3, Lakewood 2

MARYSVILLE — King’s held off the 2A Lakewood Cougars in five games (19-25, 25-15, 25-15, 14-25, 15-5) behind Mckenzie Daniels and Payton Young. Daniels had a great game from the backline, contributing 32 assists and 11 digs in the Knights’ Cascade Conference win, while Young smashed 13 kills and had eight digs. King’s (2-0 league, 2-0 overall) Kaley Kenyon also had a good game providing six kills and 12 digs. For Lakewood (0-1, 0-1), Samantha Adams provided 19 assists and 10 digs while Hailey Liebel had 14 kills and Brittany Parmentier added five kills and five blocks.
