Arlington: Expect closures on I-5 ramps at 172nd Street NE
Drivers who use the northbound and southbound ramps to and from I-5 at 172nd Street NE (Highway 531) can expect intermittent detours overnight through Friday morning.
At least two of the five ramps at the interchange are to be closed for about two hours each night, sometime between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Drivers can detour by using Smokey Point Boulevard and the ramps at 116th Street NE or Highway 530.

Bothell: Transfer fair offered at UW-Bothell
The University of Washington’s Bothell campus has scheduled a transfer fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday*. The event is free.
Participants can learn about admission, meet advisers and students and gather information on financial aid, student life and academic support services.
The fair will be on campus, 18115 Campus Way NE, Bothell, in the North Creek Events Center.
Advisers will offer two special sessions for veterans to discuss educational benefits, veterans services and the transitional process of starting or continuing education after service. The sessions are set for 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in UW1-103.

Everett: Construction at park-and-ride lot
Work on a project to improve safety for pedestrians and drivers has begun at the Mariner park-and-ride lot , 13132 Fourth Ave. W.
Planned changes include a new traffic signal and crosswalk on Fourth Avenue W. near the north entrance of the park-and-ride, extra shelter and waiting space for riders, and new wheelchair ramps.
Construction will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays until March 2010. The project is a joint effort between Community Transit and Snohomish County.
Several bus stops will be closed temporarily, while one temporary stop will be built. Several bus routes that serve the Mariner park-and-ride will not serve the lot directly during construction.

Oso: Community center needs helpers
The quarterly meeting of the Oso Community Center is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Old Oso School on Highway 530.
People who want to volunteer to help the nonprofit board of directors of the center are encouraged to attend.
