Lynnwood greets new police officer
The Lynnwood Police Department recently welcomed new officer Seth Moore to its 81-member force.
“The Lynnwood Police Department is honored and pleased to retain an officer of the caliber of officer Seth Moore,” Police Chief Steve Jensen said.
Moore, who graduated from the police academy in July, said it has been a longtime goal to become a police officer.
Along with working in the hospitality industry at hotels and motels, Moore also did a stint working at the King County Juvenile Detention Center prior to coming to Lynnwood Police Department.
Moore said it’s gratifying to be able to help keep the peace.
“Arresting people who don’t care about other people and who prey on others” is what he said he likes best about being a police officer.
Food bank has new walk-in freezer
Concern for Neighbors Food Bank in Mountlake Terrace dedicated its new walk-in cooler and freezer on Sept. 27.
The dedication was the culmination of six months of work to locate vendors who could remove the old unit and roof, prepare and pour the concrete pad and install the new unit.
Vendors who donated time, equipment and materials during the installation include Emerald Pacific Homes, Gellerson Construction, Evergreen Erectors, Cajun Excavation Inc., Concrete Reality Inc., Concrete Nor’west and Tom Norton. Grant funds to help aid in the purchase of this new refrigeration unit were received from The Hubbard Family Foundation and Albertson Stores through their Fueling Fresh Rescue grant program.
E.C. Wilson Meats and Rogers Market stored the food bank’s frozen foods during the installation. Board of directors vice president Bob Jenista coordinated the construction vendors, Wilderman Refrigeration and volunteers to see that the installation was completed on time.
