Reader poll: Tyler Maxwell on fire

Everett’s Tyler Maxwell is scorching the net at the start of the season. In the Tips’ first nine games he has 11 goals. That ranks second in the WHL and puts him on pace to score 88 goals this season.

Eighty-eight goals is not a realistic target, considering that since Everett entered the league in 2003 no player has scored more than the 59 Brandon’s Eric Fehr potted in 2004-05, and only three players have broken the 50-goal barrier in the past four seasons. But Maxwell is well on pace to surpass his career high of 33, which he scored last season.
