Arlington: Kids Kloset gets donation

Kids Kloset will receive $5,000 from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation as part of its Local Heroes initiative.

Kimberly Meno, a volunteer at Kids Kloset, was chosen as one of five Local Heroes from the Puget Sound region for contributing to the health of their neighborhoods through volunteer service.

As part of the award, the winners can direct the bank’s donation to the nonprofit of their choice.

Kids Kloset provides new and used clothing, shoes and other items free to children in the Arlington, Lakewood and Darrington school districts.

Bothell: Meeting to plan Blyth Park

The City of Bothell is developing a long range vision for Blyth Park, the oldest park in the city.

The first meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Northshore Senior Center, 10201 E. Riverside Drive.

Blyth was dedicated to Bothell by the Lions Club in 1959. Community ideas are sought for developing a master plan to guide future improvements.

Everett: Celebrate Holiday on the Bay

The Port of Everett plans a Holiday on the Bay celebration 1 to 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the 15th Street and W. Marine View Drive.

There will be a holiday farmer’s market, a Disney Holiday program at 1:30 p.m. and a holiday music program at 3 p.m.

A tree lighting and a lighted boat parade are planned for 5 p.m. Santa plans to make an appearance, too.

Organizers want people to bring canned food donations and toys for Toys for Tots.

Stanwood: Quilters meet

Stanwood-Camano Hero Quilters will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Aunt Mary’s Quilt Shop, 3323 169th Place NE Suite 5, Smokey Point.

All of the quilts are given to wounded soldiers through American Hero Quilts.

Skykomish: Meeting on cleanup work

The BNSF Railway Company and the Washington State Department of Ecology will held a meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday at Maloney’s General Store, 104 Railroad Ave., Skykomish.

The meeting will inform the community about future cleanup work that would include excavation in the Skykomish River near the 5th Street Bridge and Skykomish School Cleanup.
