Walters, Erricson named to Team Pacific

The roster for Team Pacific for the U-17 World Hockey Challenge was released today, and Everett players Nick Walters and Jari Erricson made the cut. Walters, a defenseman, and Erricson, a forward, were two of the 22 16-year-olds selected to represent British Columbia and Alberta at the event, which takes place Dec. 29-Jan. 4 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. That means Walters and Erricson will be unavailable for three Tips games following the Christmas break.
Walters and Erricson join prospect goalie Andy Desautels, who was chosen for Team West, as Everett roster/list players who will be playing in the tournament. In addition, defenseman Seth Jones, a first-round bantam draft pick, and forward Miles Koules, a list player, are playing for the U.S. NTDP U-17 team, which typically participates in the tournament. So there will be a healthy Tips presence this year.
