Not for the feint of heart

Tomorrow’s paper contains a feature on Tips center Clayton Cumiskey and what he means to the team. The story includes an anecdote about his dislocated finger from last Friday’s game against Tri-City, something that linemate Scott MacDonald described as looking like something from an alien movie. Here’s a video that shows what happened to Cumiskey’s finger — an injury that was quickly fixed — but a word of warning, it’s not for the squeamish:

Secondly, Everett goaltender Kent Simpson and defenseman Ryan Murray took part in the Subway Super Series on Wednesday night in Kamloops. Team WHL lost to the Russians 7-6 in a shootout. Simpson went the distance in goal, making 27 saves on 33 shots, and Murray had one assist. The Kamloops Daily News has all the details.

On the injury front, Everett will still be short-handed for Friday’s home game against Kamloops. Center Landon Ferraro (concussion) is out for the weekend and center Parker Stanfield (concussion) is out for Friday, though Stanfield may be cleared to play later in the weekend. Winger Scott MacDonald (shoulder) is considered questionable for Friday.

Lastly, tonight’s your first opportunity to find out what a Silvertip tastes like. Frost Doughnuts in Mill Creek is unveiling its Silvertips-themed doughnut tonight from 6-7:30 p.m. Several Everett players will be on hand for the unveiling.
