Kellan Tochkin, player of the week; plus reader poll

First off, Everett winger Kellan Tochkin was named the WHL Player of the Week this morning. Tochkin had four goals, three assists and was a plus-7 in Everett’s three victories this weekend, including his first career hat trick Friday. Having been at two of those games Tochkin is well deserving, not just because of the points but because he’s playing his best all-around hockey of the season.
Tochkin and linemate Tyler Maxwell have been right at the heart of Everett’s recent revival, which has seen the Tips win five of six. That’s vaulted the Tips from tied for last to tied for third in the wacky Western Conference. Both tallied 10 points during those six games.
But what’s made this stretch more impressive is that the Tips did it while missing three key forwards — Landon Ferraro, Parker Stanfield and Scott MacDonald — to injury during much of it. The Tips needed some players to step forward, and some have answered the bell in a big way.
So that leads us to this week’s reader poll. Who’s stepped up the most to aid Everett’s turnaround? Have your say:
