Zach McPhee will remain in Vernon

Everett general manager Doug Soetaert confirmed that winger Zach McPhee, whom the Tips acquired Tuesday from Tri-City in exchange for defenseman Paul Sohor, will remain with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL for the remainder of the season. The big-bodied 17-year-old may be called up for a game or two down the line, but Soetaert thinks it’s more important for McPhee to get the type of playing time he’ll get with the Vipers.
