Everett defenseman Ryan Murray is taking part in Canada’s selection camp for the World Junior Hockey Championships this week in Toronto. The camp had its first scrimmage last night, with Murray’s Team White falling 4-1 to Team Red. TSN’s website has comprehensive coverage on Canada’s camp, if you want to follow along.

Murray is the youngest player participating — the only 2012 NHL draft-eligible player who was invited. He’s trying to grab one of the seven defensive spots with three seemingly ticketed for players returning from last year’s team. But as one of 12 defensemen in camp he has a chance.
