Prep boys basketball: Arlington 60, Kamiak 44

ARLINGTON — A strong defensive effort and a big game by Blake Petersen led the Arlington boys basketball team to a 60-44 win over Kamiak in a Wesco 4A game Tuesday at Arlington High School.
The win allowed the Eagles to keep pace with Monroe in the North Division standings. Arlington trails the Bearcats by one game.
The Eagles didn’t allow Kamiak to score more than 13 points in any quarter, taking a 33-24 lead at halftime.
Petersen, Arlington’s versatile post player, had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists while Eric Carlson had 11 points and Terry Dawn scored 10 for the Eagles.
Ron Manchester scored 17 points and Nicholas Kussman scored 12 for Kamiak, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
