New Mukilteo police chief to be sworn in

MUKILTEO — The city’s new police chief is set to be sworn in Tuesday before the City Council.
The council unanimously approved Rex Caldwell’s appointment Jan. 3. Caldwell is a former police captain in Kirkland and commander at the state law enforcement academy.
The city is looking forward to welcoming Caldwell aboard, Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine said Thursday. The new chief already has been spending time in the office getting ready for the transition.
