Prep boys basketball: Cedarcrest 83, Lakewood 67

MARYSVILLE — Cedarcrest trailed by seven points after the first quarter but outscored Lakewood 55-29 in the middle two quarters to clinch a tie with Archbishop Murphy for the Cascade Conference championship. The Red Wolves will be the league’s No. 1 seed to the 2A District 1 playoffs based

on their 2-0 head-to-head record against Murphy. Andrew Alness made five 3-pointers and scored 21 points, Colton Rekers scored 16 points and Zach Taylor had 15 points, nine assists and three steals for Cedarcrest, which will play host to a district playoff game on Friday. Tre Haslom scored 24 points and Dillon Knott had 18 for Lakewood.
