Rep. McCoy to host energy town hall

MONROE — State Rep. John McCoy, D-Tulalip, will host a town hall Saturday afternoon focusing on emerging energy-producing technologies in the state.

The public meeting will run from 1-4 p.m. at the Qualco Energy Bio-Gas facility at 18117 SE 203rd St.

McCoy, chairman of the House Technology, Energy and Communications Committee, will spend the first hour discussing bills aimed at spurring economic development through an expanded alternative energy industry.

Representatives of Qualco Energy, the Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1, Silicon Energy, Sunergy Systems and The Light Doctor will be on hand with informational displays on their companies’ technologies and products.

Those attending will be able to tour the bio-gas plant.
