Prep boys soccer: South Whidbey 8, Granite Falls 2

LANGLEY — It took just 12 seconds for South Whidbey (1-0-0 league, 3-0-0 overall) to take control of the Cascade Conference game. Noah Moeller found the back of the net off an assist from Miles Goodman and the rout was on. Moeller and Pat Myatt both recorded hat tricks for the Falcons. Moeller’s scores all came in the first half after which the Falcons lead 5-1. In the 12th minute, Myatt assisted Moeller and, in the 25th minute, Connor McCauley assisted Moeller. Myatt’s first goal came in the 17th minute on a Moeller assist. TJ Russell played the first half in goal for South Whidbey before being replaced by Garret Thompson. Russell came into the field in the second half and assisted on Myatt’s 50th-minute goal. In the 35th and 60th minutes, Myatt’s scores were unassisted. Miles Goodman closed the scoring off an assist by James Young in the 70th minute. Granite Falls fell to 0-1, 0-2-1.
