Prep baseball: Meadowdale 11, Shorecrest 10 (9 innings)

SHORELINE — Meadowdale hurler Sam Herzer, who inherited a five-run deficit, tossed 6 1/3 in relief, holding the Scots to a lone run on one hit. Herzer fanned five and walked two to earn the win. The Mavericks’ Sam Thomas batted 2-for-3 with a homer but the big hit was his walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Chris Osborne hit 2-for-5 with three RBI and a pair of homers for Meadowdale. Meadowdale starter Matt Hirsch hit 3-for-5 with a double and a round tripper. Shorecrest was led by Ted Hammond, who hit 2-for-5 with a three-run home run.
