Prep baseball: Granite Falls 7, Lakewood 6

GRANITE FALLS — Mitch Byron’s two-run home run for Granite Falls in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a 5-5 tie and proved to be the winning runs in the Cascade Conference game. Byron went 3-for-4 with the homer and a pair of two-RBI doubles, finishing with six RBI. He also earned the win on the mound, pitching three innings in relief with four strikeouts. Lakewood’s Lucas Harkins went 4-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs.
