Prep boys soccer: Mariner 4, Cascade 3 (shootout)

EVERETT — With his team down 3-2 with two minutes remaining in regulation, Mariner’s Cristian Robles scored the tying goal. He was inserted into the goalie position in the shootout and made saves on two of three Cascade kicks. Mariner put all four of its shootout kicks in the goal. Carlos Rodriguez scored a Mariner goal in the 39th minute from a Cristian Rodriguez assist. Miguel Medina scored the other goal for the Marauders in the 73rd minute. Cascade got a goal from Bassam Halabiya (52nd minute) and two from Alex Voin (65th, 67th). Tony Curulla was in goal for Mariner (10-3 league, 12-3 overall) during regulation and the two overtime periods. Terry Dunn was Cascade’s (3-10, 3-11) keeper.
