Prep softball: South Whidbey 11, Lakewood 10

LANGLEY — South Whidbey gave up a three-run lead in the top of the seventh inning, when Lakewood put up six runs to take a three-run lead. But the Falcons got a walk off hit from Taylor Pope to capture the Cascade Conference game. With runners on first and second and two outs, Pope smacked one of her three hits to score pinch-runner Maria Crain from second. The Falcons plated all four runs in the seventh with two outs. Alex Kubeska also batted 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three runs for South Whidbey. Maddie Holmes batted 2-for-4 with a double and two runs for Lakewood. Teammate Arianna Barrio hit 3-for-5 with a pair of steals.
