The city of Mukilteo and Boy Scout Troop 189 are sponsoring a free regional emergency preparedness fair.

The fair is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave. in Mukilteo.

The program includes workshops on water and f

ood storage, fire station tours, fire extinguisher and first aid demonstrations, instructions on building an emergency kit and other materials.

Port of Everett expands walking trail: The Port of Everett is done expanding a walking trail on its North Marina property at the south side of the 12th Street Yacht Basin.

The port is calling the trail “Walking the Wharf” or simply “the W” because the trail is shaped something like that letter, said Lisa Mandt, spokeswoman for the port.

The expansion cost $18,000 and more trails are planned in the future if and when redevelopment happens at the port.

Jewish history: Everett Community College’s Humanities Center is hosting a lecture by Rabbi Mark Glickman.

Glickman will speak about his book, “Sacred Treasure — The Cairo Genizah: The Amazing Discoveries of Forgotten Jewish History in an Egyptian Synagogue Attic,” at 12:20 Monday afternoon at Whitehorse Hall, Room 105. The college is at 2000 Tower St. in Everett.

Glickman leads congregation Kol Shalom on Bainbridge Island and congregation Kol Ami in Woodinville. A genizah is a repository for damaged Jewish manuscripts.
